Glenn Ball has been in the art & design business for over forty years.

In 1964 Glenn's first job after completing an advertising art and design course at RMIT was with BHP, designing their BHP Review magazine and Technical Bulletin.

In 1968, during a one year stay at the Department of Trade and Industry he won a gold medal for the design of a full colour buyers guide. Since then he has worked with a variety of large and small companies and organisations, including a mail advertising and marketing company; editor and designer for a technical engineering magazine and designer/production manager for a full colour trade journal. Working as graphic designer for one of Australia's largest printers, Wilke & Co Ltd, gave him some insight into the technicalities of typesetting, reproduction and print production.

In 1978 Glenn Ball Designs Pty Ltd commenced operations, designing and producing colour mail order catalogues for the Save the Children Fund, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Red Cross and several others, including the first two issues of The Reece Catalogue. Along the way, Glenn has produced designs for logos, letterheads, annual reports, media advertisements and promotional full colour brochures for Humes Concrete, Connell Wagner and Smorgon Steel.

In 1990, Glenn joined up with a small publishing company to drag himself into the new technology and learned to create design and illustration on the Apple Macintosh computer. With the new technology, Glenn began designing brochures for the tourism industry;
The Echuca-Moama super brochure, The Victorian Caravan Parks Association brochure and many others, plus smaller DL brochures for motels, holiday parks and other tourism attractions.

When Tourism Victoria commenced the Jigsaw campaign, Glenn designed the first Island, Bays and Peninsulas brochure, following the guidelines set down by Mojo, the creators of the Jigsaw concept. Then followed the designing of two successive Jigsaw brochures for Melbourne and another for The Grampians, which won a silver medal at The National Print Awards in March 1997.

In January 1997 Glenn left the small publishing company and Glenn Ball Designs was resurrected after a break of six years.
A subsequent major project was the 1998 issue of The Grampians Jigsaw brochure, where Glenn was the project manager as well as the designer.

Glenn is continuing to produce printed material, including colour brochures, packaging, posters, logo designs, newsletters, etc., and is currently mastering the software required for web page design.
